I have 6 of these bags. All started with potatoes and now a few have peppers and beans in them. 4 months after getting them they are holding up well. I followed the advice of some other people and put coffee filters in the holes but found it did not drain well enough and removed some of them. I like that I can move them around and they fold up easily. Much easier to work with than pots.
I really like these bags. Dirt doesn't pour out of the holes. They are sturdy. They look decent. They are light weight and easy to move. I didn't have any issues with the straps. Excellent drainage. Good potato yield. I'm going to use them for Otero plants in the future. These really are great pots.
Works as expected. I used this to try and grow some potatos this spring. The bag works well, the handles were a bit week and one snapped on me when I tried to use it to move a full bag, but other than that these are good grow bags.
This was my first year growing potatoes and I wanted to keep them out of my garden bed in case we had an issue with insects. Not only did my potatoes grow successfully, the plants grew like weeds, faster than expected. I had no problems with water drainage and the bags held the weight of the plants, even in my high-wind location. I mainly used compost and straw to grow the potatoes rather than dirt, which helped keep the weight from being too much to turn over at the end of season. All in all, I'm pleased and plan to use them for other crops next season.
After using the bags for a second season, they're falling apart. The seams aren't staying together and I'm a bit disappointed to already have to recycle these. My fabric plant bags have held up for several seasons, still like new, but these just didn't last. I updated my star rating to a 3 since the first season was fine and if you don't need anything long-term, it's a good choice.
These bags are wonderful. I only got the opportunity to use one of them this past growing season, but I am stoked that I have two more left for next year. The bag I used worked out really well and ft exceeded both my expectation and my own makeshift bag that I made out of an old cloth bag, the latter of which got moldy and was a bust. These bags are a really great price. Don't be like me bs waste awesome soil, time, and effort by improvising on a potato bag--- save yourself the hassle and buy these. You won't find them this cheap in the store, trust me, I tried!
