Plant with precision using the DeWit Transplant Trowel, a premium hand-forged gardening tool designed for transplanting seedlings, bulbs, annuals, perennials, and small plants with minimal root disturbance. Its long, narrow blade easily slips between established plants, making it ideal for digging precise planting holes and working in tight garden spaces.
Handcrafted in Holland from tempered boron steel, this transplant trowel delivers exceptional strength, edge retention, and durability for years of dependable use. The sustainably sourced FSC-certified ash hardwood handle offers a comfortable, ergonomic grip, while the sharpened blade cuts effortlessly through soil for clean, efficient planting.
Since 1898, DeWit has been crafting heirloom-quality garden tools trusted by professional gardeners and home enthusiasts alike. Backed by a lifetime guarantee, this transplant trowel is built to become a favorite gardening companion for generations.
After use, rinse away soil and dry thoroughly. Occasionally apply a light coat of oil to the steel blade and linseed oil to the ash handle to preserve its beauty and extend the life of your tool. Store indoors when not in use.
I bought this trowel online after seeing it in a local garden store for more money. It looks like Iím going to have to send this back and buy that one. The edges on the one in the store were very sharp. These edges are very dull - even though the item description states the edges are sharp. I need sharp to work with while transplanting plants, cutting through dead perennials, etc. I would NOT recommend this product - unless you can get a true Dewit brand locally!
If youíre looking for one of the strongest trowels out there that wonít bend or break, get this one. I am a farmer and use these strong trowels for grubbing out deep bindweed or quack grass rhizomes, and prying out fairly large rocks when encountered. This is well built and very strong unlike almost all of the trowels out there, sharp too. For casual home gardener maybe itís overkill but should last a lifetime if cared for.
The trowel is very strong and it is sharp. This makes it good for weeding and digging small holes for planting. We have three now so that if we misplace one, we have another.
The reviews said best ever transplant trowel with lifetime warranty so I went for the $30 price tag. The trowel is heavy. The wood handle is rough and unfinished. For this price I would liked to have the wood sanded smooth and not worry about possible splinters. Biggest complaint is it does not have the inch measurements engraved on the blade which I feel is very helpful when planting a bulb section. It might last forever but just a basic tool in the shed.
Great tool. Sharp and penetrates the ground easily. Narrow so a small hole is made. Great for taking out a weed and its root, digging into a mole tunnel to put in smoke bomb, or planting flowers in a pot. Handy tool that I use all of the time now.
