Product came quickly and works fine. Less rigid than I expected but seems to hold the rock and soil just fine.
This patio planting/reusable container concept was a whole new thing to me. I purchased these for veggies and other plants that "play well with others", as well as some larger ones that I thought would be more suitable for larger, heavier fruit- & vegetable- bearing plants. After all was said and done, I have learned that - for outdoor gardeners who don't have a half acre to work with, these are the way to go! The larger variety are perfectly fine if planting anything that doesn't produce anything too weighty or becomes a gargantuan plant by nature. My zucchini is now affectionately known as my "Wandering Jewcchini" because it got HUGE, literally walked out of the big planter & onto my deck... and - regardless of my CPR, transplantation & prayer chain efforts - eventually died anyway.?? These were placed in a spot I had in mind for them before they were even delivered. Then, due to rainfall & the needs of the specific plants in them, the little grouping was rotated in place. Next, sunlight conditions led us to move the group to a different place on our deck. And, finally, each container ended up living in its own space entirely. This set of planters was great in every aspect. They have drainage holes - yet didn't allow too much of the water to drain off. They are solid and well-constructed. Even at their heaviest, they were easy to move and didn't literally fall apart at the seams! They looked cute together - and separately - without having to conceal or dress them up in any way. The price (especially when weighing in the results) was absolutely unbeatable! And they helped me to grow things that I would not have been able to otherwise - simply because of my space limitations. I just got a house in February after years of apartment living & living in houses with little to no outdoor space for plants - & I could not WAIT 'til we stopped having frost, freezing temps, & all the other things that go hand in hand with Winter in the Midwest! I was going to have...*gasps*...a GARDEN! And I did!!! Thanks so much for helping make my first real gardening experience both a successful and an enjoyable one!
Like concept. Learned that material not the sturdiest; especially at point of handles. 2 of 3 planters were ~1/3 full with soil and I attempted to turn/spin planters on patio using handles which caused material at handle juncture to rip. Thought it was a fluke on first planter until happened on second planter. Suggestion: don't use handles to adjust planters; if you need to move or adjust planter fill planter with soil then turn or get a second person to lift and move. Handles are purely decorative. As Kids were excited to plant vegetables, chose not to dump soil out and send back.
Tierra gardens patio planters and their aero root pots are the best for container gardeners. The pots are sturdy, durable and are easily stored at the end of the season. I'm a container gardener on my rooftop in Brooklyn. I am so glad I found these as storage is limited living in a city. At the end of the season I washed them and folded them up for next seasons use. They fit in one small box and was thrilled.
Different sizes convenient. one for salad, one for peppers and the tallest for sweet potatoes.
