Great garden spade
Excellently made and relatively well balanced weight. Would be very challenging to bend. On the large side for a trowel making it ideal for smaller planting projects. Might be large for a small hand.
This is a good and sturdy trowel which will last forever IF YOU DON'T LOSE IT SOMEWHERE IN THE GARDEN, which I did with the last one I'd had for decades. I wept when I couldn't find it, so hope this one will take its place. It is slightly narrower than my old one, but I like the point on it and the handle is good. I must just keep track of it!
This trowel is all I dreamed it would be and more. It is study, well made and seems like it will last a very long time. It has made my gardening a pleasure. Definitely worth the money.
This is my second DeWit garden trowel, so obviously Iím a fan. I bought my first one at least six years ago because I do a lot of landscaping. I will use my old one at the gardens where I volunteer, just in case it gets lost. What I love about it is the blade is pointed and beveled, making it so much easier to dig deep-rooted plants out of the most compact ground. I also put a lot of force on the handle and it has not become loose, split, or worn, other than the finish wearing off after years of hard use. The little collar piece is the only thing that eventually came loose on the old one. Now, the head is forged steel so of course it will rust if you donít take care to remove wet soil or you leave it outdoors in a moist environment. Rust is a user issue, in my opinion. Definitely recommended!
